Press Here! Face Workouts for Beginners offers age-defying and de-stressing results through a series of easy-to-follow pressure and massage techniques, which can be used as part of a daily skincare regime.

It was an important step for me to write this book to share the benefits of face workouts and the noticeable results they have on wellbeing and tone of the skin. I have developed over 80 easy to follow exercises that will improve definition, de-stress and help with general self-care. No expensive equipment needed, just easy to follow techniques you can incorporate into your daily regime to supercharge your skin.” says Nadira.

There is certainly a lot of excitement surrounding the launch of Nadira’s new book and despite her busy schedule, Nadira was kind enough to spend some time with Almost Essential this month to share more about what she does and how face workouts help her clients.

Why should we do face workouts?
Face workouts are a fundamental step in our daily routine to help relieve tension in the face and add a sense of wellbeing.  Just as we do with our bodies, the face need to be rid of tension and strengthened in order to appear more toned and defined.

What is the most efficient for?
These exercises can be performed anywhere, although the book offers the most ideal scenario, the idea is to incorporate them into your day such when applying moisturiser or cleansing.  By using these easy to follow exercises at home during a skincare routine or during a lunch break you benefit from tending to key issues and concerns on the spot and over time will see well-rested skin and improved facial structure.

What routine do you recommend?
My Warm Up and Wake Up workout is a great way to start the day.  As you warm up the muscles you benefit from oxygenating the skin and improving circulation.  For those wanting to see immediate results from a workout Sculpted Cheeks is intense and dynamic offering more tone and definition to cheekbones using pressure techniques such as knuckling; this helps disperse fluid and promotes a contoured appearance.

What difference has it made to your face?
I’ve been performing face exercises on myself since I was a teen which helped me to learn about my skins needs by identifying tense areas and tackling them through massage.  Over time, I realised I could train my face to sit in a more neutral expression and avoid habits such as frowning.   Just a few years ago, I noticed ‘trauma’ lines appear at the side of my mouth so then actively manipulated areas which had become tense during a stressful period.  I was relieved to see effective results in a short space of time as the area became smoother, softening lines and no longer appeared as deep shadows beside my mouth; this is why I was keen to share this sequence of exercises I named Mouth in Motion.

The hardback version of Nadira’s book will be published on 18th February 2020 by Fair Winds Press for £11.99 and is now available for preorder at bookshops and online.
